Position Overview UES is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our environmental team and support a variety of state and federal environmental projects. This opportunity is well suited for a mid-career environmental professional who is working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, as well as an early PE looking to continue developing their technical and project management experience. The Environmental Engineer will support environmental site investigations, remediation projects, groundwater evaluations, regulatory reporting, and remedial design and implementation. This individual will work alongside experienced environmental professionals while progressively taking on greater technical and project responsibility. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who has developed a solid foundation in environmental consulting and is ready for the next stage of their career. Responsibilities Support environmental site investigations, remediation projects, and regulatory compliance activities for state and federal projects. Assist with projects involving contaminated soil and groundwater, including site characterization, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and regulatory closure. Evaluate environmental and groundwater data and assist with hydrogeologic and statistical analyses. Support risk assessments, remedial alternatives evaluations, and development of remediation strategies. Assist with remedial design and remediation implementation activities. Prepare technical memoranda, environmental reports, regulatory submittals, work plans, and remediation-related documentation. Coordinate field activities and support environmental sampling and investigation programs as needed. Work with senior technical staff to interpret environmental regulations and develop appropriate project strategies. Communicate with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies. Assist with project scopes, proposals, schedules, and budgets. Perform QA/QC reviews and help ensure technical work products meet project and regulatory requirements. Provide guidance to junior staff as experience develops. Continue developing technical expertise and project management skills with opportunities for increasing responsibility and advancement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field 2 - 5 years of relevant AEC or consulting experience Strong knowledge of environmental permitting and regulatory frameworks Demonstrated technical writing and analytical skills Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain PE licensure in the near term. Experience with groundwater evaluation and statistical analysis. Experience supporting Superfund, Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP), or similar regulatory-driven projects. Exposure to remedial design and remediation implementation. Experience preparing regulatory submittals, work plans, technical memoranda, and environmental reports. Experience communicating with clients and regulatory agencies. Interest in developing project management, client management, and technical leadership responsibilities.
