Remediation Technician - Job DescriptionPosition Overview The Remediation Technician is a position responsible for responding to residential and commercial property damage. This role combines hands-on mitigation work (water, mold, fire, sewer) with plumbing support, allowing team members to develop a broader skill set in both restoration and mechanical systems. The position plays a critical role in restoring properties safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Key ResponsibilitiesRemediation Duties Perform water extraction, structural drying, and moisture monitoring Conduct mold, fire, sewer, and biohazard remediation Remove and dispose of contaminated materials (drywall, flooring, insulation, etc.) Set up containment systems (plastic barriers, negative air machines, HEPA filtration) Clean, sanitize, and deodorize affected areas Operate restoration equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, extractors) Document job progress, moisture readings, and scope of work Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements Qualifications Valid driver's license Ability to lift 50-70 lbs and work in physically demanding environments Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to follow direction and safety procedures Willingness to work after-hours or on-call as needed- Required rotating weekend on-call shifts
Preferred:
Experience in construction, plumbing, or restoration Interest in pursuing a plumbing career IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, etc.) Basic understanding of hand and power tools Skills & Traits Strong problem-solving mindset Reliable and team-oriented Good communication with customers and crew members Ability to adapt in fast-paced, high-pressure situations Detail-oriented with a focus on quality work Work Environment Indoor and outdoor job sites Exposure to dust, debris, water damage, and contaminated materials Use of PPE including respirators, gloves, and protective suits Combination of emergency response work and scheduled plumbing projects Summary This is a growth-focused position designed for individuals who want to build a career in restoration . $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
