Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Quality & Operations Manager to join our team in Aurora, NE. We are a small family owned business and treat our employees as family. You will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and overseeing operational processes to support the organization's growth and efficiency. Duties Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Perform detailed bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure data integrity. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Prepare journal entries, conduct account analysis, and perform double-entry bookkeeping to support financial reporting accuracy. Reconcile accounts regularly, including bank statements and subsidiary ledgers, ensuring all discrepancies are promptly addressed. Assist with budgeting processes and financial report writing to provide insights into organizational performance. Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations; handle tax experience related to non-profit or governmental accounting if applicable. Support internal audits by maintaining meticulous records of transactions and operational procedures. Collaborate with teams across departments to improve operational workflows and uphold quality standards in all financial activities. Qualifications Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar accounting software. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and governmental accounting practices if relevant. Demonstrated ability in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management. Knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and account analysis. Experience with accounts payable/receivable management and payroll processing. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred. Ability to interpret financial data accurately and prepare clear reports for management review. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and departments. Prior experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus but not required.
