Who are we looking for? The US West Environment Market is a critical component of GHD's overall growth strategy in Americas. The US West Region is looking for an Engineer to work from our Seattle, WA office. As an Engineer you will have the opportunity to coordinate and manage remediation projects. This position is an integral part of our Contamination Assessment & Remediation (CAR) business group and requires a diverse array of responsibilities. The Contamination Assessment & Remediation business focuses on the identification and investigation of contaminants and their impacts on soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor/air. We also select, design and implement effective and sustainable remedial solutions for contaminated sites. We offer expertise with known and emerging contaminants such as hydrocarbons, solvents, PFAS, nutrients, metals, dioxins and furans, acidity and explosives. Our clients are a mix of public and private organizations in the Petroleum, Oil, Gas, Government (Federal, State, Municipal), Chemical and Manufacturing, Mining, Energy, Transport, Emergency Services, Agriculture, Developers and Legal sectors. As an Engineeryou will provide technical and delivery leadership of the CAR projects for our clients throughout the West. Mentorship and development of junior staff is a critical component of the role. This position will work from our Seattle, WA office; however, there is opportunity for travel to project sites in other areas and to provide desktop support for projects in other regions, domestically and internationally. Experience 6 to 8+ years of related experience, including 1 to 3+ years of project management experience in a client-facing role Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook Solid understanding of the Washington State Department of Ecology Model Toxics Control Act for site cleanups, particularly focusing on the development of reports including feasibility studies and cleanup action plans. Experience in the design and implementation of the various technologies associated with the remediation of a wide range of hazardous materials/waste. Proven experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple projects while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment.
