About our group:
We are looking for a Facilities Engineer to support tool installation, facility improvement, and infrastructure projects for Seagate's R D facilities. This role will help plan, coordinate, and execute projects while working closely with an experienced team of facilities technicians, contractors, vendors, engineers, and internal customers.
About the role - you will: The Facilities Engineer will work on-site at our Fremont, CA facility to evaluate facility systems, improve operational efficiency, support maintenance planning, and help ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Plan and support tool installations, facility renovations, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure projects. Review drawings, blueprints, specifications, reports, and facility data to support project planning and troubleshooting. Coordinate daily work with experienced facilities technicians and provide technical support as needed. Coordinate contractors, vendors, engineers, and internal customers during planning, design, construction, and maintenance activities. Prepare project budgets, schedules, reports, RFP/RFQs, change orders, and other required documentation. Monitor project progress, costs, contractor performance, and construction activities to ensure objectives are met. Support maintenance planning for facility infrastructure, equipment, utilities, and operational systems. Ensure work complies with building codes, safety requirements, environmental standards, permits, and company procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. About you: Strong understanding of facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and utilities. Experience with facility projects, tool installations, renovations, maintenance planning, or equipment upgrades. Ability to read drawings, specifications, blueprints, and technical documents. Ability to work well with technicians, contractors, vendors, engineers, and internal customers. Knowledge of building codes, safety requirements, permits, environmental standards, and compliance documentation. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and project coordination skills. Your experience includes: At least 3 years of facilities engineering, facilities project management, construction, or related experience. Experience using AutoCAD, Excel, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of construction practices, building systems, regulations, and codes. Good communication, troubleshooting, collaboration, and project management skills. Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or a related field.
