Job Description
Residence Inn Hartford CT . The Engineer supervises and oversees the mechanical equipment along with the building's Maintainence staff. The overall responsibility for managing engineering operations (back of the house) . He/she will manage daily activities, communicate goals, implement schedules and follow proper procurement procedures to ensure engineering associates have the tools and supplies needed to carry out their job duties. He/she will assist in the training of engineering associates. Essential Job Functions Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times Deal promptly and efficiently with guest complaints and needs Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and safety procedures. Respond to all emergency situations and be prepared to assist This role will support, maintain and implement the department's BOH preventive maintenance program Assist with other duties as assigned and maintain and repair the interior and exterior of the building Create and implement a PM program for the back of the house areas and for the mechanical equipment in the building Review, adhere and understand all safety procedures Perform maintenance checks of equipment and logs properly Attend Operations Meeting Staff and Direct the performance of the staff and follow-up with corrective action when needed Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including but not limited to those contained in the employee handbook Attend Company training as needed Communicate regularly with staff, Managers, and other Hotel departments to make sure policies and procedures are consistent and any safety issues in the Hotel are known and resolved Create and implement workplace health and safety plans and procedures Inspect equipment for unsafe workplace conditions Investigate accidents and incidents to find the cause and take prevention measures Suggest solutions, improvements, and prevention steps for safety issues Adhere to, monitor, and enforce compliance with all hotel and company policies, procedures, and standards; provides clear direction in advising and instructing staff in details of work Monitor employee conformity to safety laws and policies to ensure a safe working environment Responsible for ensuring and supporting regular Safety Committee meetings Ensures the workplace is in compliance with OSHA and other state, local, or industry-specific regulations
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Three to four years of hotel engineering management experience Requires advanced knowledge of the practices relative to building and grounds maintenance. High School education or equivalent experience. Trade school experienced preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to repair and maintain various pieces of building and ground equipment. Ability to train others in these same repairs. Ability to operate mechanical equipment and various tools Ability to present technical information that requires approval.Job Type:
