Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work ASRC Federal Systems Solutions (AFSS) is seeking an ORION Facilities Engineer, Senior to work at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Job Description This individual will participate in the management of accessory hoisting equipment (AHE) and special tooling, as well as the management of maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including man lifts, aerial lifts, and forklifts, through contract labor. Responsibilities will also include working extensively in SAP software to ensure service orders, production orders, and work orders are developed, released, dispositioned, and closed. The individual will also create maintenance notes that capture problems or corrective actions and develop appropriate strategies. The individual will also be required to generate electronic material requests and track material receipts. Basic Qualifications
- Experience inspecting AHE, special tooling, and lifting equipment. This position will require the candidate to achieve a Designated Person certification within 6 months of selection and a Qualified Person certification within one year of selection.
- Experience with the operation and inspection of heavy equipment.
- Experience documenting and dispositioning failed or non-conforming equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with Production stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain Ground Processing Equipment Controller (GPEC) certification, including training and database access within 90 days.
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and off shifts.
- Must be able to navigate around equipment and facilities infrastructure in alignment with the roles and responsibilities of this position, including climbing stairs, ladders, etc., to access various areas, tooling, and equipment.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows products, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Word. Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with NASA Kennedy Space Center Operations and Checkout Building is preferred.
- Experience with operation of environmental testing equipment, including thermal and altitude simulation equipment.
- Experience with operation and troubleshooting of heavy equipment, including aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts.
- Experience as a project manager responsible for managing technical, budgetary, and schedule performance.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4
- 6 years of professional experience AFSS brings a 18-year history of delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and satellite operations services to civil and defense agencies.
