Job Description We are seeking a Facilities Engineering Assistant II to support the daily technical operations of a large aerospace manufacturing and testing facility in Palmdale, CA. This individual will work closely with senior facilities engineers and cross-functional teams to help maintain, troubleshoot, and improve building systems that support high-performance aerospace operations. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting facilities, infrastructure, construction engineering, or maintenance operations within a technical or industrial environment. This role combines facilities coordination, CAD drawing updates, project support, contractor coordination, documentation management, and CMMS support. Candidates should be comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment with engineers, vendors, technicians, and operations teams while managing multiple priorities and maintaining attention to detail. Duties and Responsibilities Update CAD floor plans, including furniture layouts, ceiling plans, and lighting schematics. Process facilities-related tickets including seating changes, phone relocations, computer moves, and event setup requests. Complete facility nameplate updates and replacements to maintain compliance and branding standards. Support infrastructure and facilities-related project coordination activities. Assist senior facilities engineers with documentation and project execution tasks. Coordinate with contractors and vendors regarding project invoicing and completion documentation. Support Maximo task requirements and ensure maintenance documentation is properly completed. Read and interpret technical schematics, facility drawings, and engineering documentation. Assist with project tracking, scheduling coordination, and facilities operations support. Maintain accurate records, reports, and supporting documentation using Microsoft Office tools. Support operational and maintenance activities within a high-tech aerospace environment. Required Experience/Skills 2-4 years of hands-on experience in facilities engineering, construction engineering, facilities maintenance, or related technical environments. Experience supporting facilities operations within aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other high-tech industries preferred. Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit. Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, facility drawings, and engineering documentation. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PDF documentation tools. Familiarity with CMMS systems such as Maximo or similar maintenance management platforms. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional engineering teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. Nice-to-Haves Prior experience supporting aerospace or defense facilities operations. Familiarity with Maximo, SAP PM, or other CMMS systems. Exposure to infrastructure improvement or capital project support. Experience with contractor coordination and facilities invoicing processes. Knowledge of LEED initiatives, sustainability programs, or energy management systems. Previous experience working within regulated or security-sensitive environments. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Education Associate's degree in Facilities Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal education.
