Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical design and engineering support for refrigeration units used in trucks and trailers . The ideal candidate will have experience in HVAC/refrigeration engineering, mechanical product design, 3D CAD, FEA, Design-to-Value (DTV), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and engineering change management . This role will focus on developing and optimizing mechanical designs, identifying cost-reduction opportunities, validating engineering changes, and supporting product development from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide mechanical design and engineering support for truck and trailer refrigeration products . Develop, modify, and optimize 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings . Identify and evaluate cost-reduction opportunities across products, components, and assemblies. Apply Design-to-Value (DTV) and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) principles to improve product value and reduce cost. Perform design optimization, including material optimization, part consolidation, design rationalization, and alternate-part introduction . Conduct or support FEA/CAE analysis , including: Structural analysis Vibration/modal analysis Fatigue analysis Evaluate redesigned components to ensure they meet required performance, durability, reliability, and quality requirements . Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) , including technical analysis, CAD/drawing updates, documentation, approvals, and closure. Work with manufacturing, quality, procurement, suppliers, and other engineering teams to implement design improvements. Analyze and document cost savings and technical benefits associated with proposed design changes. Support savings validation and engineering governance/review processes such as TRB/QRB . Participate in design reviews and cross-functional technical meetings. Prepare technical documentation, design-change summaries, project updates, and management presentations. Support weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reviews and status reporting. Track engineering actions, follow-ups, and project deliverables through completion. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Professional experience in mechanical product design and development . Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, or thermal-management products . Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings . Experience with FEA/CAE , preferably structural, vibration, and fatigue analysis. Experience with DTV, VAVE, cost reduction, or value engineering . Experience with Engineering Change Management / ECN processes . Knowledge of mechanical design optimization and material selection . Ability to analyze engineering problems and develop practical, cost-effective solutions. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Pay:

$90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
