As the Ammonia Refrigeration Engineer for North Atlantic Pacific Seafood, you are responsible for maintaining and overseeing the operational efficiency of the ammonia refrigeration system, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and implementing preventative maintenance programs to optimize facility functionality and cost-effectiveness. You will also be under the guidance and direct report of the the Chief Engineer.
Requirements:
Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred 5+ years of experience operating and maintaining industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, preferably in cold storage. Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration equipment, controls, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. Experience with PSM/RMP, OSHA, EPA, and ammonia safety requirements. Ability to manage refrigeration operations, maintenance, contractors, and emergency response. Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills with a focus on system reliability, safety, and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
Performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs on building systems Developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing budgets related to facility maintenance. Ensuring adherence to local and federal safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards. Working with contractors, vendors, and other departments to address facility issues and coordinate maintenance activities. Monitoring system performance, analyzing data to identify trends and potential issues, and reporting on facility operations.
