Salary is based on experience and certification status Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated High School HVAC Teacher to inspire and educate students in the field of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). In this role, you will deliver engaging classroom instruction, develop comprehensive curricula, and provide hands-on training to prepare students for careers in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration), plumbing, electrical work, and related mechanical trades. Your expertise will help foster a skilled workforce ready to meet industry demands while promoting safety, technical proficiency, and professional growth among students. Duties Deliver energetic and interactive lessons on HVAC systems, electrical fundamentals, plumbing, welding, mechanical knowledge, and manufacturing processes. Develop and update curriculum materials aligned with industry standards and OSHA safety regulations. Facilitate hands-on training in simulated workshop environments covering HVAC/R maintenance, automotive diagnostics, aircraft maintenance basics, and construction trades. Incorporate advanced technical skills such as programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs), operating Blackboard learning management systems, and utilizing electrical experience in instructional activities. Assess student progress through evaluations, projects, and practical demonstrations; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Maintain a safe classroom environment by enforcing OSHA standards and promoting best practices in safety procedures. Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and facilitate internship opportunities for students. Qualifications Proven classroom experience teaching high school students or adult learners in technical trades or related fields. Strong mechanical knowledge across HVAC systems, air conditioning units, automotive repair diagnostics, plumbing systems, welding techniques, electrical work, and maintenance practices. Familiarity with industry certifications such as HVAC/R licenses or OSHA safety standards is highly desirable. Experience with curriculum development tailored to technical education programs; ability to incorporate modern tools like programmable logic controllers (PLCs) into lessons. Proficiency with Blackboard or similar learning management systems for instructional delivery and student engagement. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and construction trades relevant to the HVAC field. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students of diverse backgrounds.
