Job Description

Job Title:
Operating Engineer 2 Job Description The Operating Engineer supports the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. This position requires the Operating Engineer to be on-site, with local market requirements potentially varying slightly. The role involves a Monday through Friday shift from 7 AM to 4 PM, with free parking available on site. Responsibilities Complete assigned tasks including painting, pressure washing, and maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts, as permitted by licensing requirements. Address plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work, and general maintenance. Utilize the work order system CMMS daily and complete any tenant service requests. Perform assigned preventive maintenance and inspection tasks. Support on-call or emergency response situations if applicable. Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, DDC, and pneumatic controls. Comply with all safety procedures. Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs. Handle other projects and tasks as assigned. Essential Skills 3 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry. Universal CFC EPA certification or willingness to achieve within the first year with assistance. Experience using Microsoft Office applications like Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall. Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive. Strong customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Trade school education, union training, military service, or college education is desirable. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role requires being on-site and entails a Monday to Friday schedule from 7 AM to 4 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
