Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Building & Grounds, the Hybrid Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs to HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment, controls, automation, and systems across the District. This position also provides assistance in the monitoring of contracted mechanical and structural repairs and/or activities and provides assistance and support to building custodial leads in various maintenance and repair activities within the buildings (e.g. HVAC, boilers, kitchen equipment, physical structures, plumbing facilities, etc.). Assists with weekend building checks.
Essential Dutues:
Performs maintenance and conducts repairs to all HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment, controls, automation and systems. Performs inspection and cleaning of panel boards, switch gears, and transformers. Performs maintenance and repair to plumbing systems and equipment including lavatory and kitchen fixtures. Performs structural repairs to roofing, doors, windows, suspended ceilings, lockers and bleachers. Collaborates and works closely with building custodial leads, grounds staff and custodial staff in implementing maintenance and equipment repairs to building HVAC, boilers and kitchen equipment. Collaborates with the Building & Grounds Director and Building Principals in scheduling and monitoring the activities of contracted mechanical and structural services and/or renovations within buildings to assure contracted requirements and to minimize building disruptions. Identifies and resolves climate and building operational problems and issues. Informs and assists the Building & Grounds Director in identifying building maintenance needs and requirements and implementing scheduled maintenance plans. Orders products and repair parts to implement, repair and/or perform maintenance activities. Established and maintains product inventories of supplies and parts. Performs inspections of work areas and reports all safety and or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel to ensure the proper and safe operation of the facility. Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required.
