Facilities Management / Building Operations Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management solutions, is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer to join their team in Omaha, Nebraska. This organization delivers tailored, hard-services-led facility management solutions and partners with best-in-class service providers to support a diverse property portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled building operations professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and is committed to operational excellence and safety. The Role The Operating Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems at an assigned property. This role plays a critical part in maintaining building performance, reliability, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Perform plumbing, electrical, and HVAC maintenance and repairs throughout the building. Maintain and service heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, and related systems. Inspect field conditions and perform necessary repairs and system adjustments. Complete general building repairs including doors, ceilings, hand railings, flooring, and minor installations. Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures such as water closets, urinals, flush valves, and lavatories.
Conduct routine inspections of:
Engine room equipment Fan room equipment Cooling towers Motors and house pumps Electrical rooms Backup generators Fire pumps, sump pumps, and ejector pumps Replace lamps and lighting fixtures; reinstall or replace signage as needed. Document maintenance activities and report findings to management. Respond promptly to emergency situations including equipment failure, fire alarms, and building evacuations. Complete all required safety training and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Provide timely and professional responses to customer and tenant inquiries. Apply strong technical knowledge to resolve complex issues and identify innovative solutions. Qualifications & Requirements Third Degree Stationary Operator's License issued by the City of Omaha (required). Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.. Why Apply?
