Overview We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our manufacturing facility's equipment and systems to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience with industrial maintenance, problem solving ability and a passion for keeping production running efficiently.
Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on industrial ovens, proofers, mixers, conveyors, and automated packaging lines. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PPM): Execute scheduled work orders, routine inspections, and condition-based monitoring during planned downtime to prevent catastrophic line failures.
Reliability Engineering & Continuous Improvement:
Analyze equipment failure root causes, track key performance indicators like MBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair), and optimize uptime strategies.
System Documentation & SOPs:
Develop and standardize operational procedures, equipment manuals, and maintenance logs using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) like Maintain, UpKeep, or eMaint.
Food Safety & Compliance:
Maintain strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GPs), SQF, HACCP guidelines, and SHAprotocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with production supervisors, sanitation crews, and plant management to coordinate repairs and execute facility installations. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance within manufacturing facilities or similar environments. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical diploma/certification. Strong technical proficiency with 3-phase electrical systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), pneumatics & hydronic/steam networks Ability to perform root-cause analysis during unexpected equipment breakdowns. Ability to analyze complex problems quickly and develop effective solutions while maintaining safety standards. Ability to use modern computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track asset performance is a plus.
