OVERVIEW

Devault Refrigeration, Inc., is a leading industrial and commercial refrigeration contractor located in Pennsylvania and serves the Mid-Atlantic region since 1983. The Project Engineer is responsible for designing, managing, and implementing refrigeration systems for industrial and commercial applications. This role involves overseeing the project lifecycle from concept to commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry standards, energy efficiency goals, and safety regulations. The engineer collaborates with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver high-performance refrigeration solutions that meet operational requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years in refrigeration, HVAC, or mechanical systems, preferred
• Knowledge of refrigeration principles, heat transfer, and thermodynamics, required
• Experience working with ammonia, CO2, and Freon-based systems, preferred
• Proficient in system design software such as AutoCAD or similar, BIM is a plus
• Strong organizational abilities
• Basic computer proficiency, MS Word, Outlook, Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with a team
• Ability to work independently
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Interest in obtaining PE certification
• Focused on safety and quality
• Valid Driver's license and insurable driving record, required
• Must pass substance screenings and background screenings
• Must abide by employee manual and all safety policies

SCHEDULE HOURS

• 45 - 50 hours per week

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES

• Develop refrigeration system layouts, perform load calculations, and select appropriate components
• Ensure compliance with safety codes, energy efficiency standards, and environmental regulations
• Optimize system performance and sustainability
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution
• Monitor progress, address technical challenges, and implement solutions
• Supervise system installation, testing, and start up procedures
• Provide engineering support during commissioning to ensure proper functionality
• Conduct system inspections and performance evaluations
• Troubleshoot refrigeration system issues and provide technical solutions
• Implement best practices for refrigerant management and system maintenance
• Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards
• Maintain detailed project documentation, technical reports, and operational guidelines
• Conduct post-project evaluations for continuous improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned
