Job Description
Agate Beach Inn is currently seeking a Chief Engineer The Chief Engineer is responsible for operating and maintaining the property's exterior and interior facilities including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, general equipment, and grounds. About Agate Beach Inn Agate Beach Inn is Newport's premier oceanfront full-service hotel, featuring 148 renovated guest rooms, Sea Glass Bistro & Lounge, an indoor pool and spa, and more than 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel underwent a major property-wide renovation in 2018 and has continued to receive significant upgrades and improvements, including new guest-room carpeting and televisions in 2026. Maintaining a large, full-service coastal property presents a wide variety of interesting challenges and requires a skilled, hands-on engineering team. Benefits Health, vision and dental insurance 401(k) Vacation and Sick Pay Paid Holidays Employee Referral Program Opportunities for Advancement Hotel Discounts for you, your friends and family Access to our Talent team to help you reach your career growth goals Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining the entire hotel facility including physical building structure, grounds, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment Preventative maintenance and repair of the hotel's mechanical/electrical systems and equipment, and for the general maintenance and upkeep of the facility, FF&E, grounds, swimming pool, etc. Monitor life safety systems and utilities and administer the department on compliance with all corporate/franchise standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and associates.
