This position will be headquartered at 141 NW Barstow Street in Waukesha. This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Waukesha State Office Building in Waukesha, WI at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of interview. Position Summary This position functions as one of three Southeast Region highway maintenance engineers. This position is responsible for engineering expertise pertaining to highway maintenance. This position develops, directs, and coordinates the work of specific counties through the county patrol superintendents and WisDOT Maintenance Coordinators to accomplish the goals outlined in the annual Routine Maintenance Agreements (RMAs), Discretionary Maintenance Agreements (DMA), and Local Force Account (LFA) projects. The goals of maintenance and this position requires a broad base of knowledge and experience in all phases of highway engineering support, including design and construction practices, transportation laws and statutes, drainage practices, bridge and roadway plan interpretation, budget management, and oral and written communication skills. Salary Information This position is in schedule-range (14-13) with an annual salary of $92,768-$112,237, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. A $3,000 sign-on bonus applies to those who do not have any prior permanent full-time state service in the last five years and agree to remain in the position for one year. The $3,000 will be paid on the first paycheck. Job Details This state agency does not sponsor work visas.
