Job Description

Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Weekend Maintenance Engineer to join our facilities team. This vital role ensures the smooth operation and upkeep of building systems and equipment during weekend shifts, maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with hands-on experience in facilities maintenance. Your expertise will help prevent downtime, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and support the overall safety and comfort of our premises. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, hand tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools. Conduct welding, carpentry, painting, and general facilities repairs to maintain the integrity of the building structure and interior spaces. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and future reference. Respond promptly to maintenance requests or emergencies during weekend shifts to minimize disruptions. Use technical schematics and diagrams to diagnose issues with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automated systems. Support the upkeep of facilities equipment including HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical panels, and building interior surfaces. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role with a focus on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems. Strong knowledge of electrical work, plumbing system maintenance and repair, HVAC system repair, and building interior maintenance. Proficiency with hand tools, schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments. Ability to perform welding, carpentry (including residential painting), maintenance painting, and general repairs confidently. Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting complex systems. Good communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration with team members. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to work independently during weekend shifts while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
