Job Description
We're seeking a talented Senior Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Morristown, TN Cummins location. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Collaborative partnerships : You'll drive stronger cross‑functional alignment by working closely with engineering, operations, and safety teams to meet shared production and quality objectives. Audience‑focused communication : You'll tailor technical and operational messages to diverse groups, ensuring clarity, reducing misinterpretation, and accelerating decision‑making. Health and safety leadership : You'll model proactive safety behaviors, identify risks early, and influence others to build an interdependent, injury‑free workplace culture. Controls‑related hazard mitigation : You'll recognize electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic risks and integrate safe practices into daily work plans, directly reducing incidents and downtime. Drawing‑driven process optimization : You'll interpret product and equipment drawings to design manufacturing processes that meet specifications and improve manufacturability. Equipment procurement excellence : You'll influence capital decisions by selecting equipment that meets technical requirements, improves capability, and supports long‑term operational goals. Continuous improvement execution : You'll identify waste, implement improvement methodologies, and reduce cost while improving quality and throughput. Controls engineering integration : You'll apply controls hardware and software expertise to ensure new and upgraded equipment integrates seamlessly with manufacturing systems. To be successful in this role you will need the following: Comprehensive maintenance expertise : You need the ability to maximize equipment availability and reliability across forging, CNC machining, and heat‑treat systems through disciplined preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices. Advanced diagnostic and RCA capability : Success requires strong troubleshooting skills for presses, ejectors, clutches, spindles, hydraulics, and linear systems, paired with structured root‑cause analysis and permanent corrective‑action implementation. Precision mechanical and calibration skills : You must be proficient in alignment, balancing, installation, calibration, and accuracy‑improvement activities for presses, CNC machines, broaches, heaters, conveyors, and heat‑treat equipment. Safety, systems, and leadership capability : You need strong adherence to LOTO, permits, risk assessments, and statutory compliance, along with the ability to guide and train maintenance personnel and work effectively with platforms like eMaint, Oracle ERP, and Kronos.
