Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This role is focused heavily on design and production (80%+), with the remaining time dedicated to cross-discipline coordination and introductory project management tasks. Working closely with senior engineering leadership, you will perform technical HVAC design, run system calculations, and assist in developing comprehensive construction documents for a variety of commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities HVAC & Mechanical Design:
Perform detailed heat load calculations, system layouts, equipment selection, and duct/pipe sizing for commercial building projects.
Document Production:
Develop high-quality technical construction drawings and specifications under the guidance of senior staff.
Project Execution:
Assist project teams in executing assignments on schedule and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality.
Coordination & Support:
Practice engineering calculations, collaborate with internal project teams, and participate in project coordination activities.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related engineering degree from an accredited university preferred.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of practical, hands-on experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on commercial building projects.
Certifications:
FE/EIT certification is highly preferred. Active path toward obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in HVAC design principles and load calculation methodologies. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (2010 or newer). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Soft Skills & Requirements:
Great attitude with a passion for continuous learning and professional growth in a team setting. Fluency in spoken and written English.
