$61-66/hr. Location- Hill Airforce Base in Utah 6-7 months Position Overview This is not a traditional design role. This position supports a government client from the client side of the project. Responsibilities will include reviewing design submittals, participating in design review conferences, coordinating with the client and project teams, and providing engineering support during construction. This is a project-related, field-based position stationed at Hill AFB . The role provides an opportunity to take a different perspective by supporting the government/client side of the design and construction process. We are seeking a Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Engineer to provide on-site design review and engineering support for a variety of federal facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, piping, and plumbing design, along with leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with experienced professionals. Building types may include administration and office buildings, laboratories, server rooms, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, maintenance facilities, and other federal infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Ensure project compliance with applicable codes, standards, and government requirements. Review HVAC and plumbing design deliverables, including specifications, drawings, calculations, and basis of design documents. Review designs for accuracy, clarity, coordination, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Support the review of designs for both new and existing facilities. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. Provide construction-phase engineering support, including review of submittals and responses to RFIs. Participate in design review conferences and project meetings. Develop and maintain project schedules for small- to mid-size projects. Communicate technical information effectively to clients, peers, contractors, and end users. Present technical information and project updates to large groups when needed. Work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team. Required Skills & Experience Minimum of 3 years of related experience as a Mechanical Engineer. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution. Federal industry experience with familiarity with government requirements, including UFCs, MIL-STDs, and UFGS . Active SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain one. Strong knowledge of building mechanical codes and applicable standards. Strong HVAC and plumbing design experience, including industrial, commercial, central plants, boilers, chillers, and related systems. Familiarity with the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) . Experience with building controls systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS). Knowledge of sustainable design principles. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams. Must be a U.S. Citizen . Must be able to successfully complete required criminal/civil background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records checks, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
