Senior Maintenance Engineer Employment Type:
Full-time Salary Range:
$118,000 - $135,000 / year Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client to lead technical and mechanical reliability initiatives at their cement manufacturing facility in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will design and implement predictive/preventative maintenance programs, analyze equipment reliability, drive root-cause problem elimination, and optimize plant assets to ensure maximum operational uptime. Key Responsibilities •
Reliability Systems Management:
Monitor and optimize predictive and preventative maintenance (PM) routines, lubrication programs, vibration analysis, thermography, non-destructive testing (NDT), and oil analysis. •
Maintenance Planning & SAP Operations:
Create preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for new equipment; coordinate SAP maintenance work orders and inventory management. •
Root Cause & Defect Elimination:
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), Pareto analysis, FMEA, and statistical reviews to eliminate repetitive mechanical failures. •
Asset & KPI Optimization:
Support sustainable improvements in Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and overall equipment availability across major plant systems (raw grinding, pyro-processing, cement grinding). •
Continuous Improvement & Budgeting:
Facilitate equipment reliability processes, research technological enhancements, contribute to the area maintenance budget, and manage plant capital projects. •
Technical Mentorship & Safety:
Provide technical leadership and reliability training to maintenance teams while maintaining a daily field presence to enforce safety compliance.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. •
Experience:
3+ years of professional maintenance engineering experience in the cement or mining industry (or equivalent combination of advanced technical degree and specialized industrial field experience). • Technical Competencies (3+ years required in each): + Working in a maintenance engineering capacity within heavy manufacturing (cement or mining). + Hands-on engineering experience with ball mills, materials classifiers, large-scale industrial fans, and heavy conveyor systems. + Utilizing SAP systems for maintenance work order management and spare parts inventory control. + Applying predictive maintenance (PdM) principles and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
