Role Description:
The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Instructor is a full-time, on-site position located at Laurel College of Technology in Morgantown, WV. This role is responsible for planning and delivering classroom and lab instruction in HVAC systems, tools, safety practices, and troubleshooting techniques. The instructor prepares lesson plans, demonstrates proper installation and maintenance procedures, oversees hands-on training activities, and evaluates student performance through assignments, tests, and practical assessments. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a safe and orderly lab environment, updating curriculum materials to reflect current industry standards, providing academic support and mentoring to students, and collaborating with colleagues to improve program quality. The instructor also participates in program meetings, maintains accurate records, and supports institutional goals related to student retention and successful job placement. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong HVAC technical skills, including system installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair. Candidates should possess skills in teaching, training, and curriculum development to design and deliver effective instructional content. Candidates should possess plumbing knowledge and related mechanical skills that complement HVAC instruction. Relevant industry certifications or licenses in HVAC (e.g., EPA 608, NATE) are highly beneficial. Previous instructional or mentoring experience in a technical or trade school setting is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills are required. An associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience in HVAC or a related field is preferred. Commitment to student success, inclusive teaching practices, and adherence to safety standards is essential.

Home Improvement Contractor Grade B Refrigeration Engineer HVAC Contractor

• Team player who demonstrates initiative, dependability and reliability. - Must be able to use a computer / Canvas experience is a plus! Successful candidates will have solid experience with repairing, maintaining, and installing a variety of HVAC equipment. EPA certification is required, but no prior teaching experience is required. The ideal candidate must be comfortable speaking in front of students, have an engaging personality and the ability to build rapport with students.
Hours:
Monday- Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Must be willing to travel weekly to Uniontown, PA campus. Will follow school calendar for school breaks.
