Job Description
Engineering Technician (Boating Experience) We are a Tampa-based geotechnical engineering firm, seeking an Engineering Technician for full-time work to support a specialized contract involving sampling activities conducted from a boat. Responsibilities include field sampling and inspection, safely working from and around boats, transporting equipment and materials, and hauling and maneuvering trailers. Previous boating experience in Florida and trailer-hauling experience are required. Once this contract is complete, the successful candidate must be willing to transition to other projects and perform the full range of Engineering Technician duties as assigned. The position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing for extended periods, lifting objects over 40 lbs., and communicating regularly with contractors, technicians, and project managers. Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and documentation skills are required. Job Requirements Experience with QC testing preferred Knowledge of FDOT specifications preferred ACI and CTQP certifications preferred Previous experience hauling and maneuvering trailers, including backing and connecting/disconnecting trailers, required Previous boating experience in Florida preferred, including safe operation of boats inland and/or coastal waterways Ability and willingness to safely operate company vehicles, trailers, boats, and related equipment as required for field operations High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License with an acceptable MVR based on insurance requirements Must pass a background screening and drug test Employment Benefits Company vehicle (acceptable driving record required) Annual boot allowance Monthly cellphone allowance Certifications and training Employee referral bonus Employee recognition program Medical, dental and vision insurance 401(K) plan with matching We are an Equal Opportunity Employer; AA/EEO/Veterans/Disability friendly employer.
