Job Title:
Engineering Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Part-Time Technician to support the repair and assembly of medical devices. This role will focus on hands-on work including device repairs, sub-assembly builds, and small-batch production of cable and harness assemblies that are not outsourced due to low volume. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys precision work in a regulated environment and is open to a contract-to-hire arrangement. Responsibilities Perform repairs and rework on medical devices and related components. Build and assemble sub-assemblies in support of device manufacturing and service needs. Assemble small quantities of production cables and wire harnesses in-house. Perform soldering of electronic components and cable assemblies to specification. Follow work instructions, drawings, and quality procedures. Document work performed in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment. Essential Skills 1+ years experience in medical device or regulated environment work history. Electromechanical troubleshooting. Production cable/harness assemblies builds. Hands-on soldering experience (through-hole and/or fine-pitch preferred). Experience building cable or wire harness assemblies. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Ability to read and follow assembly drawings and work instructions. Comfortable working in a regulated environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in the medical device industry. Experience working under FDA or similar regulated quality systems. Background in other regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics manufacturing). Work Environment The work environment consists of a smaller team with around 10 members, including a handful of Engineers onsite. Team members are hard workers and often need to wear different hats, providing a great opportunity for a Senior Technician or Junior Engineer to gain experience in various areas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minnetonka, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
