A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications) Experience with configuring and maintaining SCADA systems and familiarity with the DNP protocol. ( strongly preferred ) Basic knowledge of computers, keyboarding skills and the use of Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and applicable software programs. Basic knowledge of engineering principals, theories and practices. Ability to learn and successfully apply a basic knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline. Ability to learn and design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline. Good oral, written and graphical communication skills required, to include basic technical writing skills. Ability to learn and conduct standard tests, measurements and experiments. Ability to function as a member on a technical team. Organization skills and ability to prioritize and manager multiple tasks. Demonstrates questioning attitude, problem solving, analytical and abstract thinking skills. Education Requirements Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering Technology, Physics, Math, Biology, Computer Engineering. Other disciplines may be substitituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above. In order to be a titled Engineering Technical Specialist, you must meet one of the following criteria: Relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology (ABET or non ABET accredited) OR relevant experience and Bachelor's or post- graduate degree in Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Engineering Equivalent combination of directly related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree Engineering Technical Specialist I 0+ years of relevant experience and competencies in applicable discipline with a Bachelors degree.
