About the Role KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer (VHDL) for a growing engineering organization in Torrance, CA. This position will play a key role in the design and implementation of FPGA-based digital signal processing systems used in advanced wireless and satellite communications applications across both commercial and defense markets. The team is developing sophisticated signal-processing platforms supporting high-performance radio and satellite communications systems. We are seeking engineers with hands-on
RTL/FPGA
development experience and practical VHDL experience who are interested in owning designs throughout the FPGA development lifecycle. The organization is open to candidates across a range of experience levels, from talented developing engineers through highly experienced FPGA professionals. Key Responsibilities Design and implement FPGA-based digital signal processing systems. Develop RTL designs using VHDL. Participate in the full FPGA development lifecycle, including design, simulation, synthesis, place and route, implementation, testing, and debugging. Develop self-checking unit-level and system-level test benches. Troubleshoot and resolve FPGA design and implementation issues. Work with complex digital signal-processing architectures used in wireless and satellite communication systems. Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and other engineering teams throughout product development. Support integration and testing of FPGA designs within radio/modem hardware. Utilize laboratory equipment to troubleshoot and validate designs. Communicate technical information effectively with engineering teams, management, and customers. Required Qualifications Hands-on
FPGA/RTL
design and implementation experience. Practical VHDL development experience. Candidates whose primary background is Verilog may be considered if they also have meaningful hands-on VHDL experience. Understanding of the complete FPGA design flow, including synthesis, place and route, simulation, implementation, and verification. Experience taking FPGA designs through the development lifecycle. Understanding of software and hardware interaction. Familiarity with FPGA development tools such as Xilinx and/or Altera/Intel FPGA tool suites. Basic working knowledge of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal sources, and power supplies. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. Ability to work full-time onsite in Torrance, CA. Authorization to work full-time in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications FPGA development experience involving digital signal processing (DSP). Experience with satellite communications, wireless communications, telecommunications, aerospace, or defense-related systems. Experience with ModelSim/QuestaSim for FPGA simulation. Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Ruby. Experience with source/code control tools in a team development environment. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Active or previously held security clearance is a plus but not required. Why Join?
