Job Description

Support operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based strategic warning and surveillance radars for the U.S. Space Force. Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex hardware issues, performing depot-level maintenance, creating engineering drawings and wiring diagrams, repairing Line Reparable Units, and supporting system integration and testing. The role requires hands-on testing, calibration, debugging, repair, lifecycle management, and modernization of military electronic systems, along with an active Secret clearance. The summary above was generated by AI SAIC seeks an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer. This position is in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Job Duties:
Provide site and lab maintenance support and troubleshooting to resolve complex issues, interact, and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining sub-systems. Perform on site Emergency Depot Level Maintenance/Urgent Depot Level Maintenance (EDLM/UDLM) to resolve critical system issues affecting mission operations. Generate engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams and custom cable assemblies. Perform maintenance on Line Reparable Units (LRUs) in a lab environment in accordance with established processes and in compliance with technical specifications. Ability to support system integration, test, development, and execution of various types of complex communications systems. Qualifications Bachelors and five plus (5+) years' experience or equivalent experience in lieu of degree Active Secret Clearance Experience sustaining complex military electronic systems that require continuous sustainment, lifecycle management, and upgrades. Ability to document, report, and analyze outcomes of maintenance and engineering activities to support long-term sustainment. Demonstrated experience sustaining complex radar, hardware, or electronic systems requiring lifecycle management, maintenance, integration, and modernization. Strong hands-on experience with hardware testing, calibration, troubleshooting, debugging, and repair for sophisticated systems and components.
Desired:
Experience sustaining GBRs, or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as PAVE PAWS and UEWR. Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise.
