$40.00-$48.00 per hour DOE Position Overview M Force Partners is seeking an experienced PCB Design Engineer (Altium Designer) to support the development of advanced electronic products from concept through production. This position will focus on schematic capture, multi-layer printed circuit board layout, component libraries, and manufacturing documentation for complex electronic systems. The ideal PCB Design Engineer (Altium Designer) has at least 5 years of professional PCB design experience with strong hands-on expertise using Altium Designer. This individual should be comfortable developing analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic PCB designs while working closely with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams. The PCB Design Engineer (Altium Designer) will support projects through schematic development, PCB layout, prototype builds, engineering validation, production release, and engineering changes while ensuring designs meet applicable IPC standards and manufacturing requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop electrical schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts using Altium Designer Design printed circuit boards supporting analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics Translate electrical design requirements into manufacturable PCB layouts Perform schematic capture and maintain accurate design documentation Select electronic components and support component selection activities Create and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and component libraries Apply appropriate PCB layout practices for signal integrity, power distribution, grounding, and manufacturability Support high-speed digital and controlled impedance routing requirements when applicable Generate fabrication packages and manufacturing documentation Create assembly drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) Generate Gerber and ODB++ manufacturing files Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) principles Review PCB designs for fabrication and assembly requirements Support prototype builds and engineering validation activities Support PCB troubleshooting and design modifications during prototype and production stages Manage design revisions and support Engineering Change activities Collaborate with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management Coordinate with manufacturing teams to resolve PCB fabrication and assembly issues Ensure designs meet applicable IPC standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing requirements Maintain accurate PCB design files and technical documentation throughout the product development lifecycle Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience Minimum of 5 years of professional PCB design experience Strong hands-on experience with Altium Designer Experience developing multi-layer PCB layouts Experience with schematic capture and electrical design documentation Understanding of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and/or power electronic PCB design Experience creating and maintaining PCB footprints, schematic symbols, and component libraries Strong understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes Experience generating manufacturing documentation, including fabrication and assembly packages Experience with Gerber and/or ODB++ file generation Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and DFT principles Working knowledge of applicable IPC standards Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams Strong attention to detail and technical problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work onsite in New Haven, CT Preferred Qualifications High-speed digital PCB design experience Analog and mixed-signal circuit layout experience Controlled impedance routing experience Power electronics PCB design experience Experience supporting complex or high-reliability electronic products Experience supporting PCB prototype builds and engineering validation Experience taking PCB designs from development through production release Experience supporting military, medical, biotechnology, quantum computing, cleantech, industrial, or scientific instrumentation products Job presented by M Force Partners M Force Partners is a specialized recruitment partner connecting top-tier talent with leading organizations.
