Job Description
The PCB Designer is responsible for the design, simulation, layout, and validation of high‑performance printed circuit boards used in high‑reliability applications. This role leads board‑level electrical design from schematic through manufacturing support, ensuring designs meet stringent electrical, mechanical, environmental, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Lead PCB electrical design activities, including schematic capture, component selection, and layout guidance for complex, multi‑layer circuit boards. Own the design of high‑speed digital circuits, including processors, memory subsystems, and high‑bandwidth communication interfaces. Execute detailed PCB layout practices such as controlled‑impedance routing, differential pair tuning, stack‑up definition, and power‑distribution network (PDN) design. Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis to validate performance and ensure reliable high‑speed operation. Develop resilient and fault‑tolerant architectures incorporating redundancy, watchdogs, fail‑safe circuitry, and robust memory designs. Collaborate closely with firmware, software, systems, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless system‑level integration. Support design verification and validation activities, including board bring‑up, functional testing, environmental testing, and troubleshooting. Generate and maintain complete engineering documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test procedures, analysis reports, and design review materials. Provide DFM/DFT support to manufacturing partners and resolve fabrication, assembly, or test issues. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (IPC, IEEE, MIL‑STD) and internal quality processes. Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices for high‑reliability PCB design. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience designing high‑performance printed circuit boards. Strong proficiency with Altium Designer (schematic capture, PCB layout, and library management). Experience designing high‑reliability electronics , including aerospace, defense, or IPC Class 3 hardware. Hands‑on experience with advanced PCB manufacturing techniques such as blind vias, buried vias, microvias, and HDI . Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology (Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.)
