Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Hardware Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves leading the development of complex electronic systems, from conceptual design through to manufacturing and testing. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in electrical and electronics design, PCB layout, FPGA development, and system integration. You will play a pivotal role in advancing our technological capabilities by designing reliable, efficient, and scalable hardware solutions that meet industry standards and project requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Duties Design and develop electronic hardware components including circuit schematics, PCB layouts, and system architectures using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks. Implement FPGA-based solutions utilizing SystemVerilog, VHDL, or similar hardware description languages for high-speed data processing and control applications. Conduct thorough root cause analysis on hardware failures or performance issues to identify underlying problems and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with software engineers to integrate firmware written in C++, Python, Perl, or scripting languages with hardware systems. Perform system development verification through simulation tools like Simulink and MATLAB, ensuring compliance with electrical building codes such as NEC and NFPA 70. Lead engineering testing procedures using oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to validate hardware performance under various conditions. Oversee manufacturing processes including surface mount technology (SMT) assembly, soldering techniques, and quality assurance protocols. Ensure all designs adhere to electrical safety standards and industrial automation regulations while maintaining documentation for certification purposes. Support debugging efforts during prototype development by analyzing signals with oscilloscopes and troubleshooting electrical systems. Contribute to project scheduling by estimating timelines for design phases, testing cycles, and production handoffs. Maintain comprehensive records of design iterations, test results, and compliance documentation for audit readiness. Experience Proven experience in practicing electrical engineering within industrial or manufacturing environments focusing on electronics design and system integration. Extensive knowledge of PCB design principles including schematic capture, layout optimization, signal integrity considerations, and surface mount technology (SMT). Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks for mechanical-electrical integration. Strong background in FPGA development using SystemVerilog or VHDL; familiarity with simulation tools like Simulink is advantageous. Hands-on experience with programming languages including C++, Python, Perl for firmware development and automation scripting. Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and debugging of complex electrical systems using oscilloscopes and other diagnostic equipment. Familiarity with electrical standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 compliance requirements. Knowledge of control systems engineering principles including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation protocols, and industrial communication systems. Mechanical knowledge relevant to designing enclosures or integrating mechanical components with electronic systems. Experience working with microcontrollers such as ARM-based platforms or Arduino for embedded system development. Strong understanding of signal processing techniques used in vision inspection systems or communication systems engineering. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to project schedules involving detailed project planning and execution. This position is ideal for engineers passionate about pushing technological boundaries through innovative hardware solutions. If you possess a comprehensive skill set aligned with these requirements and are eager to contribute to impactful projects in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply today.
