Electrical engineering FPGA circuit design Full Job Description The FPGA Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of FPGA-based digital logic solutions using VHDL for Indra Navigational and Surveillance products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Design, develop, implement, and maintain FPGA architectures and digital logic for Ground-Based Radio Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS), Surveillance Radios (ADS-B/WAM), Software-Defined Radios (SDR), and other systems as assigned. Develop and update VHDL code for FPGA devices, including simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure. Support full FPGA development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, integration (hardware and firmware), verification, validation, and maintenance of both new and legacy designs. Implement digital signal processing algorithms and SDR architectures on FPGA platforms. Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate FPGA designs into system-level architectures. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize FPGA designs in simulation and on-target hardware using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
Requirements:
Experience:
5-10 years of professional experience in FPGA design and development
Languages:
VHDL FPGA
Toolchains:
Xilinx Vivado or similar
Simulation & Verification:
ModelSim or similar Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
