Job Description
Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks an Analog Electronics Design Engineer for Space Instruments to design, analyze, and test radiation-tolerant analog and mixed-signal circuits for cutting-edge space missions. You will create low-noise sensor front ends, precision power systems, and robust readout electronics, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across national security and space exploration programs. Responsibilities include schematics, simulation, PCB support, lab validation, and documentation to rigorous spaceflight standards, all within APL's mission-driven, collaborative research environment. Responsibilities Design analog and mixed-signal circuits for space instruments, including low-noise front ends and precision power conditioning. Develop schematics, perform simulations, and support PCB layout for radiation-tolerant designs. Define requirements and collaborate with systems, RF, digital, and mechanical engineers to meet mission needs. Plan and execute lab testing, troubleshooting, and design validation for prototypes and flight hardware. Document designs, analyses, and test results to meet internal and sponsor standards for space missions. Support design reviews, failure analysis, and design improvements across the instrument lifecycle. Ensure compliance with relevant spaceflight, reliability, and environmental qualification standards.
