Position:
Hardware Design & Test Engineer (PCB/CCA)
Location:
Owego, NY About the Role We are seeking a Hardware Design & Test Engineer with strong experience in PCB design, circuit card assembly (CCA) validation, and hands-on troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will support PCB development, build activities, engineering verification, and test automation efforts for advanced electronic systems. This role requires a combination of design expertise, laboratory testing skills, and proficiency in MATLAB-based automation. Responsibilities
  • Support PCB design activities from development through verification and validation.
  • Provide engineering build support and collaborate with cross-functional teams during prototype and production phases.
  • Perform engineering verification, checkout, and troubleshooting of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
  • Develop, modify, and maintain MATLAB scripts for test automation and data analysis.
  • Execute functional, performance, and validation testing for RF and digital hardware assemblies.
  • Utilize RF measurement and test equipment, including Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, and Spectrum Analyzers, to characterize and validate electronic hardware.
  • Investigate hardware issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Document test procedures, results, and technical findings.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to ensure product quality and performance. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in PCB design, electronics hardware development, and circuit card testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with electronics circuit card troubleshooting and laboratory testing.
  • Experience using Siemens Xpedition for PCB design and layout activities.
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB for scripting, automation, and data analysis.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and hardware verification methodologies.
  • Familiarity with RF test and measurement equipment, including:
  • Signal Generators
  • Vector/Network Analyzers (PNA/VNA)
  • Spectrum Analyzers
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with RF and high-speed digital circuit card assemblies.
  • Knowledge of design verification and validation processes.
  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing, board bring-up, and production support activities.
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
