Job Description
Job Title:
Test Engineer (Levels II and III)Job Description The Test Engineer will develop, execute, and improve test activities for complex aerospace and defense systems. This role focuses on verification and validation of flight and aviation-related products, supporting systems integration, product development, and qualification and certification efforts. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure products meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory requirements while contributing to mission-critical aerospace and defense programs and advanced technology initiatives. Responsibilities
+ Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and reports for complex aerospace and defense systems, ensuring alignment with system requirements and program objectives.
+ Perform verification and validation (V&V) activities to confirm that systems and components comply with defined requirements and performance criteria.
+ Conduct system-level and component-level testing on new and existing products, including flight and aviation-related systems.
+ Support systems integration efforts by collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams across product development and advanced technology programs.
+ Analyze test data, document detailed results, and identify root causes of failures using structured engineering and diagnostic approaches.
+ Troubleshoot hardware, software, and integrated systems, applying engineering principles and diagnostic techniques to resolve complex issues.
+ Support qualification and certification testing activities, including those related to FAA, NASA, and DoD requirements.
+ Utilize industry-standard testing equipment and tools to evaluate product performance and verify system functionality.
+ Assist with quality assurance initiatives, including the investigation and resolution of product non-conformances.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, processes, and documentation to enhance efficiency, reliability, and test coverage.
+ Collaborate with engineering and project teams to support mission-critical aerospace and defense programs and high-visibility projects.
+ Participate in efforts to expand testing capabilities and support a diverse portfolio of programs, enabling technical growth and career development. Essential Skills
+ Proven experience supporting testing efforts related to aerospace, aviation, or flight systems, including exposure to systems integration, product development, and verification and validation (V&V).
+ Hands-on experience in test planning and test execution for complex systems.
+ Strong skills in root cause analysis for hardware, software, and integrated system failures.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
+ For Test Engineer II roles: at least 2 years of relevant test engineering experience.
+ For Test Engineer III roles: at least 6 years of relevant test engineering experience.
+ Solid understanding of system design concepts and their application in test engineering.
+ Ability to support and contribute to mission-critical aerospace and defense programs. Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.
+ Ability to independently develop detailed test plans, procedures, and reports.
+ Experience with certification testing for FAA, NASA, and DoD programs.
+ Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot complex systems at hardware and system levels.
+ Familiarity with quality assurance principles and non-conformance resolution processes.
+ Prior aerospace and defense industry experience.
+ Interest in working on advanced technologies and complex engineering challenges.
+ Motivation to grow within a diverse portfolio of programs and expand technical skill sets over time. Work Environment This role operates in an aviation flight deck and office setting, providing direct exposure to flight and aviation systems as well as a professional engineering office environment. You will work with industry-standard testing equipment and tools, collaborating closely with engineering teams on mission-critical aerospace and defense programs. The environment offers access to advanced technologies, complex systems integration and testing activities, and a diverse range of projects that support national security, aviation, defense, and aerospace initiatives. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beavercreek, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $115000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
