Job Description

The Opportunity StaffRight Associates is seeking a visionary Senior Digital Hardware Engineer to spearhead the creation of next-generation embedded control platforms. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between conceptual architecture and physical realization, developing ruggedized technology designed to thrive in the most demanding industrial environments. What You ll Do Architect sophisticated schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts for high-performance digital control systems. Synthesize complex hardware requirements by selecting mission-critical components and implementing advanced DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) methodologies. Lead rigorous peer-review sessions for circuit designs and layout outputs to ensure peak reliability and performance. Engineer microcontroller I/O structures and logic-level signal conditioning, managing high-speed serial communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, and UART. Collaborate with firmware engineering teams to synchronize hardware/software interfaces and drive successful initial board bring-up. Execute comprehensive board-level validation, environmental stress testing, and EMC compliance protocols to meet stringent global safety standards. Troubleshoot intricate hardware anomalies, implementing decisive corrective actions and technical improvements throughout the product lifecycle. Champion continuous improvement initiatives by integrating modern design tools and staying at the forefront of digital hardware innovation. Generate meticulous technical documentation, including comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), interface specs, and cost modeling.
What You Bring Academic Excellence:
A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a strictly related technical discipline.
Deep Domain Expertise:
At least 10 years of professional experience dedicated to digital circuit design and embedded systems.
Technical Mastery:
Advanced proficiency in integrated EDA tools (such as Altium) for end-to-end schematic capture and PCB development.
Communication Protocol Proficiency:
Expert-level understanding of internal serial buses and external communication standards (Ethernet, RS-232/485) tailored for harsh-environment protection.
Validation Skills:
Familiarity with circuit simulation software (e.g., LTspice, Simulink, or Plexim) and exposure to
FPGA/CPLD
development using VHDL or Verilog.
Compliance Knowledge:
Practical understanding of IPC-610 standards and familiarity with UL/CSA regulatory frameworks.

A foundational grasp of power electronics and analog circuitry is highly valued.
