Job Title:
Systems Engineer Job Description We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team developing an advanced aerospace headset certified under TSO‑C139A. In this role, you will drive systems engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with aviation standards while contributing to a highly integrated audio and Bluetooth-enabled avionics product. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and working to ensure a rigorous aerospace development environment. Responsibilities Execute systems engineering processes in accordance with industry standards, including DAL evaluation, requirements development, validation, verification, and system-level integration. Develop and manage system architecture, interface definitions, and system documentation for a TSO‑C139A headset product. Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, and certification teams to ensure cohesive system design and compliance. Support system safety analyses, certification artifacts, and regulatory documentation. Lead system integration activities, including bench testing, environmental testing, and flight evaluations. Identify and resolve design issues across interdisciplinary domains such as audio, Bluetooth, embedded software, and electronics. Contribute to risk management, configuration management, and change control processes pursuant to applicable standards. Coordinate with external partners, suppliers, and certification authorities as required. Lead the creation of certification plans as determined byARP/RTCA
guidance. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Minimum 8 years of systems engineering experience in aerospace, avionics, or similarly regulated industries. Demonstrated experience applying engineering processes in a real development program. Strong understanding of requirements management, architecture development, and system verification. Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with structured engineering processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience with avionic audio systems or audio signal processing is strongly preferred. Hands-on experience developing or integrating Bluetooth-enabled systems, especially in constrained or regulated environments. Experience working with TSO products or certification programs. Optional but valued experience includes DO‑178B/DO‑178C (software lifecycle processes) and DO‑254A (hardware lifecycle). Work Environment The role is set in an engineering environment, focusing on the development of advanced aerospace technologies. The position involves working with cutting-edge audio and Bluetooth-enabled systems, requiring a collaborative approach across various technical teams to achieve compliance and integration with aviation standards. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Burnsville, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $73.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
