The Electrical Engineer II will lead the design and implementation of embedded power electronics for battery powered products, ensuring innovation, reliability, and performance in a fast paced product development environment.
What You Will Be DoingDesign and take ownership of embedded hardware systems, including architecture, schematic capture, and component selection for battery powered productsDevelop and debug MOSFET switching power stages and supporting circuits such as gate drives, protection systems, and current or voltage sensing for low voltage, high current applicationsSupport motor control hardware implementations, including inverter and bridge power stages, while collaborating closely with firmware engineers to ensure seamless hardware and firmware integrationPrototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded electronics, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, EMC tools, and other lab equipmentLead design activities from component selection through schematic capture, PCB layout, prototype builds, and test plan execution, while ensuring adherence to project schedules and development processesWhat You Need for This PositionBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field3+ years of experience in embedded electronics design with strong ownership of hardware and exposure to 32 bit microcontroller based circuitsDemonstrated hands on design experience in power conversion and motor drives, particularly in embedded hardware implementationsPractical knowledge of MOSFET switching in low voltage battery systems, including gate drive design, switching behavior, and protection requirementsProficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium, with the ability to support occasional PCB layout needsWhat's In It for YouFull Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD/STD, 401k w/ matching) and more!
