Description Join AWS as a Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to support the development of next-generation cloud infrastructure hardware. Drive innovation in complex PCBA designs utilizing state-of-the-art FPGA SoCs, working with world-class engineers in our dedicated product development lab. Arlington, VA HQ2: This role will sit in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million square feet of energy efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs. This position requires that the candidate selected must be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work. 10012 Key job responsibilities
- Development of complex PCB designs incorporating FPGA SoCs
- Support system-level hardware architecture decisions and technical requirements
- Support new product introduction (NPI) processes with contract manufacturers
- Develop and validate high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits
- Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC compliance, thermal, and signal integrity requirements
- Partner with FPGA/firmware teams to define hardware interfaces and requirements
- Participate in design reviews and drive technical consensus across multiple teams A day in the life You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hardware, software, and FPGA engineers in our dedicated product development lab.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing experience
- Experience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout
- Experience with FPGA SoC hardware integration, hardware validation and debugging Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
