PurposeProvide technical support for fire protection engineering and life safety consulting projects under the direction of senior staff. Assist with evaluating building fire protection systems, preparing technical documentation, conducting field investigations, and supporting code compliance efforts. Develop technical expertise while contributing to project deliverables that help clients protect people, property, and operations.

ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Direction
- Work under the guidance of senior fire protection consultants, engineers and project managers
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and professional development
- Participate in training and mentorship opportunities to build technical and consulting skills
- Communicate effectively with internal team members and clients.
- Support project teams in the analysis and design of fire protection and life safety systems
- Assist with fire and building code research and interpretation
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, calculations, specifications, and design documents
- Participate in site visits, field investigations, and system assessments
- Maintain project documentation in accordance with company quality standards.
- Assist in evaluating fire suppression, fire alarm, smoke control, and life safety systems
- Perform basic engineering calculations and technical analyses
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents for compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Prepare technical reports, inspection findings, and recommendations
- Gather and organize field data during facility assessments and site visits
- Coordinate project activities with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders
- Utilize engineering software and computer applications to support project execution
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required
- Entry level position. Zero to Two (0-2) years of relevant fire protection engineering, consulting, construction, inspection, or related experience preferred
- Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in fire protection engineering preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain preferred
- NICET certification or other fire protection-related certifications are a plus
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required
- Basic knowledge of fire protection engineering principles and building systems
- Familiarity with applicable fire and building codes and standards, including NFPA and International Code Council (ICC) standards, preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software preferred
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.

- Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds
- Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds
- Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
