The Engineer will work closely with architects, engineers and builders to integrate fire protection systems into building designs during the construction phase. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Perform calculations and design fire alarm, fire suppression, and life safety systems Prepare specifications based on design Review design drawings in relation to plans and specifications Analyze potential fire hazards in buildings and new designs providing recommendations Ensure all fire protections systems meet local, state, and federal fire codes and standards. Stay updated on fire safety technologies and techniques, conducting experiments and field tests to evaluate new systems and materials. Meet with owners and understand project requirements. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Travel:
10%, to project sites for surveys and meetings. Competencies Experience in Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including multi-disciplined design teams Qualifications / Prior Experience Experience in Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including multi-disciplined design teams Excellent communication and time management skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
