$62.00-$70.00/hour (Contract) | $100,000-$115,000 (Direct Hire) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support and strengthen a culture where safety is the highest priority and every incident is considered preventable. This individual will play a key role in driving proactive safety initiatives, environmental compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be a motivated safety professional with a strong background in manufacturing EHS programs, environmental compliance, employee training, and ISO management systems. This position offers the opportunity to influence site-wide safety culture while partnering with operations, leadership, and employees to ensure a safe, sustainable, and compliant workplace. Key Responsibilities Promote and reinforce a culture centered on accident prevention, risk awareness, and continuous safety improvement. Develop, implement, maintain, and communicate safety and environmental programs in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees, managers, supervisors, contractors, and visitors. Conduct job hazard analyses (JHA), risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Analyze incident, injury, and loss data to identify trends, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Assist in accident and incident investigations and support the development of corrective action plans. Review and update site safety and environmental policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company requirements. Support environmental compliance initiatives and sustainability objectives across the facility. Assist with maintaining ISO 14001 and
ISO 45001
certifications, including audits, documentation, corrective actions, and compliance activities. Partner with site leadership and operational teams to drive engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement in EHS performance. Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on emerging EHS requirements and best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Experience supporting and maintaining ISO 14001 and
ISO 45001
management systems. Proven experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Experience performing job hazard assessments, risk analyses, and ergonomic evaluations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train, influence, and present to various audiences. Self-motivated professional with a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or similar EHS-related credentials. Experience supporting environmental sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement programs. Prior experience leading safety committees, employee engagement programs, or culture transformation initiatives. Experience managing internal and external regulatory audits. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
