Job Description
Description Permanent position for a Fire Protection Engineer to provide code analysis and design life safety and fire protection systems design. Prepare code studies, reviews, and interpretations, life safety plans and fire suppression and fire alarm contract documents for complex projects. Provide site water supply analysis for fire suppression systems design. Assist project architect with egress, construction types, and barrier selection for building construction projects. Integrate fire protection systems with architectural and engineering disciplines. Review Sprinkler and Fire Alarm system shop drawings. Assist with performance and report on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and egress modeling. Serve as point of contact with clients and code officials to resolve fire protection and life safety code issues. Position can also be based out of Baltimore, MD or Raleigh, NC office. Requirements Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, fire protection or architectural engineering. PE license is required. At least 5 years of industry experience. Experience in analysis and design of building fire safety systems and sprinkler systems. Knowledge of IBC and IFC model building codes, NFPA 101 life safety codes, and
