Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented and team-oriented Fire Sprinkler Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing fire sprinkler systems that ensure safety and compliance across various construction and manufacturing projects, compliant with
NFPA 22, NFPA
25, AHJ, local city codes, etc. Your expertise will help safeguard lives and property by developing reliable, efficient fire protection plans to be built and installed. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects with big brand names, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to building code compliance and system design excellence. Responsibilities Develop detailed fire sprinkler system designs using CAD software, including AutoCAD, AutoSprink and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools, ensuring adherence to building codes and safety standards. Conduct system layout planning and 3D modeling for product design, integrating mechanical engineering principles with fire protection requirements. Perform hydraulic calculations, flow analysis, and root cause analysis to optimize system performance and troubleshoot issues effectively. Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering teams to integrate fire protection systems seamlessly into building designs. Collaborate with city officials and local fire departments for approving plans in a timely manner. Review schematics, technical drawings, as-built drawings and construction documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry and governmental standards. Lead project scheduling, manage project timelines, and oversee installation processes from conception through commissioning. Conduct site inspections, construction oversight, and quality assurance checks to verify system installation meets design specifications. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; advanced certifications in fire protection systems are a plus. Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on fire sprinkler or fire protection systems. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, AutoSprink and CAD-based BIM tools; experience with 3D modeling for product design is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of building code analysis, building code compliance, and fire safety regulations applicable to various jurisdictions. Familiarity with system design principles involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), data analysis skills, and scripting for automation purposes. Ability to perform engineering troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and data collection for ongoing system improvements. Excellent project management skills including project scheduling, cross-functional communication, team leadership, and documentation practices. Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to mechanical design and mechanical knowledge of fire suppression systems is beneficial. Experience with construction sites or laboratory environments involving research or testing of fire protection components is advantageous.
