Responsibilities Own the plumbing and fire protection design scope on projects. Guide junior staff with precision and intention. Navigate complexity and contribute to coordination with a leadership presence. Bring foresight to meetings, discipline to documentation, and mentorship to junior engineers. Produce redlines that teach and systems that solve. Design independently and communicate clearly. Reinforce quality across all phases of the project. Lead internal and external coordination across all phases of delivery. Manage client communication throughout the project. Oversee quality assurance of technical documentation and drawing sets. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering. 4+ years of progressive plumbing and fire protection design experience. Strong command of AutoCAD. Expertise in system sizing, flow, and pressure calculations. Experience across diverse building types and occupancies. Ability to identify and solve design challenges with sound engineering judgment. Strong communication skills and client-facing experience. Deep understanding of relevant codes, standards, and real-world applications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Revit proficiency. EIT or PE certification. Strong organizational skills and time management. Professional communication skills. Work Environment Located in New York, NY, the office includes amenities such as a game room and gym. The role offers a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days of work from home. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr.
