Job Description

EHS Engineer

  • Base Salary to 95k/year
  • Johnson City, TN Our client, a leading manufacturer, is seeking an experienced EHS Engineer to join its onsite team in Johnson City, Tennessee.
This position is responsible for leading Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) programs that support regulatory compliance, employee safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing locations in Eastern Tennessee. The EHS Engineer will develop, implement, and oversee safety and environmental initiatives while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Manage the EHSS budget. Represent the facility on the Global EHSS Council. Manage EHSS programs through an ISO-based management system and reporting platforms. Develop and administer project safety plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), incident investigations, workplace safety observations, and safety audits. Ensure safety equipment inspection and maintenance programs are completed. Develop, implement, and monitor environmental, health, and safety initiatives that promote regulatory compliance and continuous improvement. Identify training needs and develop, coordinate, and conduct required EHSS training programs. Manage the workers' compensation claims process. Interpret and apply OSHA, EPA, DOT, TDEC, TOSHA, and other applicable regulatory requirements to maintain compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management experience within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations, including EPA, TDEC, DOT, and TOSHA requirements. Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to ensure compliance. Experience with ISO 14001 and
ISO 45001
management systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Compensation:
Base salary in the 85k
  • 95k/year range.
