This role supports production by creating standardized work instructions, improving packaging operations, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and driving continuous process improvements to enhance quality, productivity, and traceability. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain packaging processes for new and existing products. Create, revise, and control packaging documentation, including: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Work Instructions (WIs) Process Flow Charts Control Plans Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) Packaging Inspection Specifications Design and standardize packaging methods to ensure product protection, consistency, and compliance with customer requirements. Standardize packaging labels, barcodes, carton markings, and traceability requirements across manufacturing operations. Coordinate with IT and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) teams to configure and maintain labeling systems and ensure accurate lot number, part number, and traceability information. Train production operators and line leaders on packaging procedures, ESD requirements, labeling standards, carton sealing, wrapping methods, and packaging best practices. Provide day-to-day production support by troubleshooting packaging process issues and resolving manufacturing abnormalities. Investigate packaging defects, shipping damage, and customer complaints using structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, Fishbone Diagram, 5 Why, and PFMEA. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce packaging defects, scrap, and customer damage. Optimize packaging workflows and production line layouts to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput, and operational efficiency. Improve machine performance by optimizing process parameters for carton sealers, labeling equipment, wrapping machines, and other packaging equipment. Reduce changeover times and support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to introduce new products and improve manufacturing processes. Monitor packaging performance metrics and recommend process improvements to reduce costs while maintaining product quality. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, packaging engineering, process engineering, or contract manufacturing. Experience developing manufacturing documentation including SOPs, work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, and process flow diagrams. Knowledge of packaging materials, labeling systems, barcode standards, and product traceability. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and training abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems; experience with MES systems is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience in electronics or contract manufacturing. Knowledge of ESD requirements and electronics packaging practices.
