Job Description
Job Summary The Supplier Quality Engineer will play a key role in ensuring world-class performance of the prototype and production supply base while driving continuous improvement. The role will support supplier quality activities, corrective actions, quality documentation, process audits, and supplier management. Experience with vehicle harness manufacturing, wire harness diagrams, EDI, and IPC620 is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities
- Liaise between Supplier Quality, Incoming Quality Control, Engineering, and suppliers on key quality issues.
- Review root cause analyses and provide technical support as needed.
- Provide onsite support to validate the implementation of containment and corrective actions.
- Assess new and late product design changes and provide remote support to Supplier Quality and supplier teams to help certify implementation.
- Ensure continuous two-way communication regarding quality issues and critical requirements between internal teams and suppliers.
- Review prototype and production part quality document submissions from suppliers and provide feedback.
- Develop prototype Control Plans and PFMEAs, perform regular audits, and drive gap closures.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base using quality and lean manufacturing tools.
- Improve supplier quality processes, including assessments, supplier management, part approval, and corrective actions. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- 2-4 years of experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing within the automotive, aviation, or medical device industries.
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and creating or improving quality systems.
- Experience using problem-solving techniques such as Six Sigma, 8D, Pareto Charts, Regression Analysis, ANOVA, DOE, Fishbone Analysis, Red-X, and Is/Is Not analysis.
- Experience using quality analysis and control tools such as Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, Process Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and Process Capability.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as PCB/PCBA, wiring harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, and electrical components.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9000 and
IATF 16949.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vehicle harness manufacturing and wire harness diagrams.
- Experience with EDI and IPC620.
- ASQ, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
