Experience managing suppliers (i.e., auditing sites, implementing quality control plans, FMEAs, ISO 9001 QMS, etc.). Experience resolving quality issues using methods: 8D, 5-Why, SCAR processes, etc.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field. 8 years of experience in global supplier quality management within semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fabrication, epitaxy, or micro-displays. Experience proactively managing complex supplier relationships, drive accountability, enforce contractual quality specifications, and manage corrective action plans (SCAR). Manufacturing experience in semiconductor, electronic/optoelectronic components, or high-precision display technologies. About the job As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer for Raxium, based in Fremont, you will own the supplier quality of critical semiconductor and micro-display fabrication materials, components, and services critical to Raxium's manufacturing processes. You will serve as the primary supplier quality engineer for partners and vendors supplying materials such as sputtering targets, wafers, wafer substrates, and chemicals, and manufacturing services such as foundry, epitaxy, and thinning, dicing and pick and place. You will collaborate closely with Raxium engineering, supply chain, and external suppliers to drive comprehensive supplier quality management, rigorous Quality Control (QC) strategies, on-site audits, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs/8D) to deliver display technology quality. Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities Lead supplier quality assessments, evaluations, qualification, and on-site audits for critical Raxium vendors and semiconductor/materials suppliers (including ISO 9001, QMS, cleanroom standards, and ESD controls). Establish and enforce rigorous Incoming/Outgoing Quality Control (IQC/OQC) requirements, product specifications, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and measurement systems (MSA/GR&R) with suppliers. Drive supplier non-conformance management, material containment, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) using structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, root cause and corrective actions). Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing/Supply Chain) to conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) reviews, process qualification, and review supplier Product Change Notifications (PCNs) or deviation requests. Monitor supplier quality metrics and performance dashboards, driving continuous quality improvement, yield optimization, and wafer/component scrap reduction with critical partners.
